I’ve always been passionate about computers, tech in general, and learning how things work, so I decided to learn how to code. And I did it to test a couple of things:

1. A developer told me that implementing a feature I wanted would take about a week. It looked so simple to me, but was I wrong?

2. Is learning a computer language the same as learning in any other language like English or Spanish?

3. Is it possible to design things using only copy?

As I was learning, I decided to code this website for my friend’s company in Canada. I did it free of charge.
He liked it so much that we ended up working on a paid project that will see the light of day pretty soon.

Then, I started playing around with responsive websites, so I did an interactive site that included some “borrowed” JS code. This site was a fun one.

Finally, after being trapped at home due to the pandemic, someone let me borrow a camera.
I started a youtube channel, got a couple of hundred subscribers, studied film direction at NYFA, directed a couple of films, and made some clients (paid and non-paid). But the missing piece was — drum roll, please — a website.
So, I went back to writing, and this is the final result.

I’m not a developer, but now I know enough to see through a vendor stalling on a project. I can also write some basic things for entertainment purposes, but the most important thing is that I now have a lot of street-cred with my very techy nephew.

These are my findings about the questions above:

1. It took me five minutes to find the answer in Stackoverflow and ten minutes to make a cup of coffee. I make really good coffee.
2. It is the same thing, with rules of grammar and punctuation.

3.  Yes, it is possible.
